SCARF CREATION

The uniform of the Belgian Pavilion uses normal elements like a white shirt and a fitted black tube skirt in order to concentrate on the scarfs - the essential highlight. The scarf is in silk for its lightness and smoothness on the skin, designed by Lara Courty.

The inspiration for this scarf is given by the color and graphic of the pavilion itself. The various colored squares in the backgroung represent the different roles of each personnel. The layer above shows houses with open contours, representing the 145 participating countries connected together by interchanging roads. But these symbols should also be understood as representing the whole diversity of cultures, languages - people communicating and thus connecting with each other worldwide.
